Bernd Berg

Prior to joining Woodman Bernd was a Director in SocGen’s Global Emerging Market team in London, responsible for the EM Outlook and Investment Strategies for Asset Managers. During his time for SocGen he early predicted the 2015 Emerging Market sell-off predicting “A Once in a Lifetime Short in Latam Rates and FX” already in the Spring of 2015 before China devalued its currency in August 2015. Prior to SocGen he was a Strategist in the FX & Fixed Income department of Credit Suisse in Zurich. Before Credit Suisse he hold various positions in the hedge funds industry in London and Switzerland focusing on Global Macro/ Emerging Markets Fixed Income strategies. Bernd received a doctorate degree (PhD) in Economics from the University of Tübingen in Germany. In his doctorate thesis he investigated Emerging Markets Investment Strategies. He has published articles on macroeconomic developments in a range of magazines and newspapers including the Financial Times.
