Darryl Hooker

Darryl Hooker was Co-Head of EBS BrokerTec Markets from July 2015 to April 2018. He continues to represent NEX on the ACI and GFXC committees, with the latter having secured NEX’s involvement in the construction and implementation of the global FX Code of Conduct and promoted NEX as a strong proponent of the Code and Global Register. In more than 18 years at EBS and other ICAP subsidiaries Darryl had a number of different roles, most recently as Head of EBS Market. Previously he was Head of Strategic Currency Initiatives and prior to this served as Head of Emerging Markets and Precious Metals.

Darryl has been a representative member of the WMBA since 2003 and was a member of the LBMA Public Affairs Committee until 2011. He has been an active member of the ACI UK Committee since 2007 and sits on the Market Practitioners Group (MPG) and Global FX Committee (GFXC) , as well as having represented NEX on the ECB FX Contact Group (ECB FXCG), the Australian Foreign Exchange Committee (AFXC) and Canadian Foreign Exchange Committee (CFEC).

Darryl's career in FX and Precious Metals has spanned four decades and five continents. Before joining EBS, Darryl held a variety of senior positions with Reuters and M.W. Marshall in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa, the Middle East and UK.

Career highlights include the construction and development of the OTC spot Ruble market (incorporating the creation and chairmanship of the International Ruble Settlement Forum) and the establishment of EBS as the primary venue for spot CNH globally along with Asian NDFs.

Darryl has been a regular media spokesperson for NEX appearing on television, being quoted in the FX/PMET press and speaking at industry conferences.
