Matteo Cominetta is the Head of Macroeconomic Research at Barings, responsible for managing the Barings Economic and Thematic Research (BETR) team and implementing the economic research agenda, both short term and thematic. Matteo joined the firm from the European Central Bank in 2020, where he was Senior Economist in the Financial Stability department. Previously, he has held senior positions at UBS and the European Stability Mechanism among others. Matteo holds a B.A. in Economics from Bocconi University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Sussex University.
