12:20 PM AcademiaTalk: AI in financial markets: Where is the edge - and who has it - humans or machines?

With more than two decades researching algorithmic trading, market design and machine-driven decision-making, Nir is a leading authority in the field, bringing a rare perspective that bridges academic research and the practical development of trading models used in financial markets. Bilal brings the practitioner counterpart to that view. Bilal has spent more than two decades in investment banking as a researcher and FX strategist, including as Global Head of FX Research at Deutsche Bank and Nomura. As founder and Chief Market Strategist at Macro Hive, a global macro research and strategy firm, Bilal has spent the past five years researching and developing AI models to better understand financial markets and develop actionable insights for investors.
