Varqa Abyaneh is Founder and CEO of Opetek and has a career spanning FX derivatives trading, quantitative finance, optimisation and financial technology. He has traded across the full spectrum of FX derivatives, from vanilla products to complex exotic structures, giving him first-hand experience of the analytical and workflow challenges faced by trading desks. Previously, Varqa was Chief Product Officer at Quantile, where he built and scaled the product function through to the company’s £274 million acquisition by LSEG. He holds a PhD in quantum physics, remains active in quantum research, and has authored peer-reviewed scientific publications.
